The flood gates of Louisiana are flowing into the river and the water is overflowing onto the land slowly. They are warning Louisiana residents to move to higher ground in case of major flooding. The majority of residents are taking the advice and seeking higher ground to be safely out of the water's wrath.
The flood gates have been secure for the past four decades but are now endangering Louisiana and the many residents occupying it. Some people's yards in Melville have already experienced flooding but the rain has not progressed any farther. There is a remaining danger that the flooding could reach up to 20 feet which would cause major confusion and dangers for the people.
The major cities of Louisiana such as New Orleans and Baton Rouge were clear from flooding. The water is continuing to move downstream and it is uncertain all of the cities the flooding could affect. Their is a mandatory evacuation order in place for the safety of the people. The evacuating residents are traveling to friends and family in non-flood zones such as Baton Rouge.
The levees are not holding up and is raising the dangers daily. The supplies needed for evacuation such as food, sandbags and motor oil in local stores are running low.
Even the animals are evacuating away from the floodgates. They are warning people to be cautious of wildlife crossing.
